Before you continue!

When it comes to buying any pet reptile the most important thing is the commitment and ability of the owner when it comes to being able to care for any reptile. Owning a reptile is not easy. Sure, there are some Reptiles that are easier than others, however, the key is respecting their needs and their wants. If you respect what you need and you’re able to provide it to them, they’ll live a happy and long life. I can’t speak for everyone but that’s why I love keeping them, you get a great sense of reward seeing reptiles thrive within your care.

With this being said, you do have to anticipate some stressful times. There is only so much reading you can do online, some people say one thing and another site says another. At the end of the day you should compile all of this information and apply what you think is best for your reptile.

A lot of advice I give through these caresheets is the same across for a lot of different reptiles, expect to see the same advice, however also expect to see a lot of differences in advice. Don’t assume it’s all the same.

In short, while looking through care sheets of reptiles you’re interested in, just ask yourself if you will be able to meet their needs everyday for however their life span is. If no, then fear not there are probably easier reptiles out there for you. If yes, then keep doing your research and you’re on path to being a great reptile owner.

IMPORTANT

This site is based in the United Kingdom and some of the terms we use do not translate to other countries, for example we call different sizes of rodents different things - our small rats are not the same size as Americas small rats.

Please bare this in mind, in the future I will add disclaimers and as many translations as possible.
